Round Table

This is an organisation that was started over 80 years ago in Norwich and has since spread across the whole of the country and many other countries over all over the world. It is an organisation for young men of 18 to 45. The aims of round table are

• To develop the acquaintance of young men through the medium of their various occupations.
• To emphasise the fact that one´s calling offers an excellent medium of service to the community.
• To cultivate the highest ideals in business professional and civic traditions.
• To recognise the worthiness of all legitimate occupations and to dignify each his own by precept and example.
• To further the establishment of peace and goodwill in international relationships.
• To further these objects by meetings, lectures, discussions and other activities.

Much of my spare time is spent on Round Table “Tabling”, either attending Round Table events or working towards them. I have carried out roles such as area chairman, area international relations officer, area sports and social officer, area liaison officer, national councillor, regional representative and secretary.

It is great to belong to an organisation that has such aims and at the same time helps and supports local, national and international charities. While we raise funds through evens such as Fireworks on Bonfire night to support these charities, I always take great satisfaction knowing that some of the tickets that we have given to charitable organisations will allow disadvantaged Children to enjoy the show free of charge.

It has also allowed me to make great friends all around the world. There are events that take place all year round and all over the world. It has allowed me to have fun and experiences that I will always cherish and remember.

Cardiff Devils Ice Hockey team

Ever since my first visit to the Devils in the mid 90’s with my wife I have been an avid supporter of our local Ice Hockey team; the Cardiff Devils. This is a great sport full of skill and speed that takes place in a family environment. www.cardiffdevils.com
